Pastoral support at Cullompton Community College

At CCC we take pride in our positive relationships with our young people which is truly visible when walking around the school site. In order to support students to leave the school with a full repertoire of communication and social skills, we believe in teaching our children through routines, habits and norms. 

We prioritise through our pastoral system explaining to the students why we have rules, systems and expectations. This alongside high expectations enables our environment to be positive, safe and supportive. It also allows our teachers to teach and students to learn.

Pastoral support

All students at CCC are part of a year group based tutor group.  Students are in tutor period for 20 minutes every morning.  There is also an opportunity for tutors to discuss pastoral matters with the students and take action.  This means that tutors are able to know each individual in their tutor group really well.  

The tutor is the first point of contact and can be supported by your child’s Head of Year.

Attendance at CCC

Regular attendance helps students make good progress and enjoy learning. We take a whole school approach to maintaining excellent attendance; it is the joint responsibility of parents / carers, students and staff. Being at school is a very important part of any young person’s life. It enables them to learn and make friends and to gain important qualifications and gain a variety of skills which will prepare them for adult life. School and parent / carers are partners in making this a success. As parents / carers it is your responsibility to make sure that your child makes the most out of their learning opportunities by ensuring a high level of attendance is maintained.
