This year (Summer 2021) the DfE have decided that GCSE Examinations will not be sat. In their place teachers will award Grades based on a holistic consideration of students’ performance. To do this we have followed the relevant OfQual and Joint Council for Qualifications guidance. (March 2021)
As required we have written and adopted our Center Policy and that may be viewed here: Click here
We have also published lists of the assessments that will contribute to a student’s final Teacher Assessed Grade in each subject. We have given a description that indicates the weight that is attached to each assessment component in the final balance of considering the grade most appropriate for each student. These documents are called “Subject Assessment Schedules and Balancing Statements”.
If a student believes that a particular assessment component should not be considered due to experiencing exceptional circumstances when it was completed, the student they should register that using the form “Request for Variation to Standard Assessment Schedule for Teacher Assessment Grades 2021”. This may be printed and then posted or hand delivered to the main reception. Alternatively a copy can be collected from the main reception. This must be done by Friday 14th May 15:00. In addition to the Assessment Schedule each subject has a separate “Objectivity Statement”. This indicates the process that each subject took to ensure that as far as possible Assessments were objective and actions were taken to avoid conscious and unconscious bias. These are listed here:
